The Gardunha Mountain, which gives its name to this room, is our Mountain, our source of water and life, in a word: our home. And this is also the spirit of this room which, like the mountain itself, is not the biggest, but at the same time big and very cosy.

Classified as a protected regional landscape and part of the Rede Natura 2000, Serra da Gardunha is a guardian of biodiversity and unique landscapes, which can easily be observed and experienced in the more than 350 km of hiking trails and 450 km of mountain biking trails that it offers. But it is also from this guardian function that, according to the legends, our mountain range keeps its name since immemorial times: the name Gardunha comes from those who "guard Idanha". Idanha was the capital of ancient Egitania, from the Roman period, and in times of war its inhabitants would come to seek refuge here in Gardunha.

Today, Serra da Gardunha is known as Solar da Cereja do Fundão and we, at Quinta da Porta, are very honoured to, through our cherry orchards, be part of this well known brand in our country.

Dominated by the centenary granite stone walls, this room is ready to welcome you very comfortably and be your home during your stay in Gardunha. The room is equipped with a sleeping area and a living area, with direct access to the historical gardens of Quinta da Porta.
