Sanctuary for the Iberian Lynx, the Malcata mountain range remains a biodiversity reserve, having gained Nature Reserve status in 1981. In addition to the lynx, there are also unusual species such as the wildcat, the red fox and the sidenet. Located north of Monsanto and adjacent to the Serra da Gata, in the Spanish Extremadura, Malcata (like Estrela) marks the transition between Beira Baixa and Beira Alta.
Very bright, this room keeps some records of its ancient function, namely the manger, in granite stone, with the stalls that delimited the space reserved for the horses. The ample space offers a sleeping area and a living area.
For family occupancy, the Malcata room also offers the possibility of direct and private connection to the Monsanto room, in a total combined area of 89 m2.
