A history of centuries

The "Solar de Vale de Prazeres"

The "Solar de Vale de Prazeres", whose origins date back to the 14th century, is the heir to a history of centuries, with the particularity of remaining in the same family for over 600 years.

Next to the buildings, the Historical Gardens stand out, terraced along the foothills of the mountain. Stretching over about 2 hectares, these green spaces include water springs, romantic gardens with centenary boxwoods, various ponds and cages, countless stone steps, a belvedere overlooking the beira plain and a chapel of templar origin.

Although traditionally linked to agricultural activity, with particular emphasis on olive oil and wine production, it was already in the 21st century that the family decided to start the conversion and expansion of the Quinta's old orchards, adapting them to the most modern technologies and the most demanding and environmentally sustainable production methods. Today, Quinta da Porta is proud to be a reference in the production of the famous Cereja do Fundão.

And it is the fusion between the old and the modern that is at the essence of the Quinta da Porta project.
